The Storm Is Not the End

Revelation 21:4“
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will no longer exist; grief, crying, and pain will exist no longer, because the previous things have passed away.”
Every storm, no matter how severe, is temporary. There is a day coming when the clouds will break, the sea will still, and the voice of the King will declare, “No more.” No more death. No more grief. No more crying. No more pain.
This is not fantasy. It is the promise of Scripture, secured by the blood of Jesus and revealed to John in a vision of our future. Heaven is not an escape—it’s the fulfillment of everything we’ve longed for. The broken will be healed. The weary will be renewed. And the storm-scarred will find rest forever.
Your pain has an expiration date. Your sorrow will not last forever. Because of Christ, the end of your story is not devastation—it’s restoration. The same Jesus who calmed storms on earth will one day eliminate them entirely. That hope is not wishful thinking—it’s an anchor for your soul.
This is the doctrine of eschatological hope—the confident, biblically grounded expectation that God will bring all things to their rightful conclusion in Christ. We do not endure blindly; we endure with our eyes fixed on the One who has already overcome the world.
To be anchored in the storm is to live with one eye on eternity. Today may hurt, but the day is coming when He will wipe away every tear—not with indifference, but with the tenderness of a Savior who walked through storms to bring you home.
selah:
How does the hope of heaven change how you face the storms of today?
What part of Revelation 21:4 gives you the most comfort right now?
Pray:
Lord Jesus,You are my anchor in every storm. When the winds rage and sorrow weighs heavy, remind me that this is not the end. Thank You for the promise of restoration, secured by Your blood and sealed by Your resurrection. Help me live today with eternity in view, holding fast to the hope that one day, every tear will be wiped away by Your hand. Until then, keep me faithful, and draw me nearer. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.
