The God of Strength in Weakness — Power Where We Break

“But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” (2 Corinthians 12:9) “For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:10)

Weakness doesn’t disqualify you in the kingdom of God—it qualifies you. The very things we hide, downplay, or apologize for are often the places where God wants to demonstrate His strength. When Paul pleaded for his thorn to be taken away, God didn’t remove it. Instead, He gave him something better: grace that holds under pressure.

The God of strength in weakness is not embarrassed by your frailty. He doesn’t ask you to pretend. He invites you to depend. Paul’s greatest effectiveness came not from removing the thorn—but from learning to rely on the One who carried him through it.

Our culture tells us to perform, to appear strong, to fix ourselves. But the gospel invites us to confess, to lean in, and to let God’s grace speak louder than our limits. In fact, your weakness may be the very space where others see His power most clearly.

You don’t need to hide the struggle. You need to surrender it. Because where you break, He builds. Where you limp, He leads. And where you fall, He lifts.

🙏 Pray to the God of Strength in Weakness

Father,

You are my King. Thank you that I don’t have to be strong to be loved and thank You that my weakness is the place You meet me with power. Teach me to rely on Your grace and to live from dependence upon you.

 In Jesus’ name, Amen.

That's a great reason to have hope in Christ today!
