Day 36: Teacher

Teacher

Mark 4:38 He was in the stern, sleeping on the cushion. So they woke Him up and said to Him, “Teacher! Don’t You care that we’re going to die?”

In the midst of a violent storm, the disciples cry out—not just in fear, but in desperate faith—calling Jesus “Teacher.” It’s a name filled with respect, but also with expectation. In Jewish culture, a teacher (Rabbi) was one who had authority, wisdom, and the power to interpret God’s will. But on that boat, Jesus was more than just a teacher of words—He was about to teach with the wind and the waves as His classroom.

With a simple command, “Silence! Be still!” the storm ceased, and a great calm followed. The disciples had called Him “Teacher,” but they were just beginning to understand the depth of what that meant. Jesus teaches not only through lessons and parables, but through His presence in our trials. He leads us into storms so we can see who He truly is. His teaching changes more than minds—it transforms hearts, strengthens faith, and reveals the very nature of God.

Prayer: Teacher, thank You for speaking truth to my heart and showing me who You are, even in the storms. Teach me to trust You when I’m afraid, to listen when You speak, and to follow wherever You lead. Amen.

Keep it in mind today as you walk in His love and share His grace!
