Nature: Communicating Knowledge of God Everyday.

Here's a great reason to have hope in Christ today!
Psalm 19 starts with:
The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky proclaims the work of His hands.Day after day they pour out speech; night after night they communicate knowledge. There is no speech; there are no words; their voice is not heard. Their message has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world.
Before he placed humans upon the Earth, God had already prepared myriad ways by which to communicate his majesty and love for us.
The way He communicates can be separated into two main paths: natural (creation) and special (The Bible) revelation. We will address why the Word is trustworthy in another post, but for now this much is clear: to know anything about God, He must reveal it to us.
That is why both creation and Scripture matter – Psalm 19 shows that He has not left Himself hidden. He has made Himself known, and that revelation is the reason we are not left guessing, but responding. Special Revelation comes via God's Word, The Bible. And although Psalm 19 is part of the Special Revelation, Natural Revelation is in view.
David declares what the Holy Spirit has revealed to him: Everyone knows God Is, but viewing God from the testimony of nature alone is incomplete because God is Spirit and he created nature and while He is indeed Imminent, He is also transcendent. God is the Creator of Nature, not it's product. All creation is a testimony of his creative power which orders matter as He creates and molds. That He ordered creation in such tells us plenty about him and us; He wants us to know Him, for example.
It's easy to see if you are looking…The entire expanse gives testimony to many of His attributes. In fact, Romans chapter 1 states:
“...what can be known about God is evident among them, because God has shown it to them. For His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen since the creation of the world, being understood through what He has made. As a result, people are without excuse.”
His eternal power and divine nature is but a smidge of a sliver of a glimpse of The Lord of Heaven and Earth–but enough to leave us all without excuse.
“Excuse me?” You may ask, but no. I can't give an excuse, you can't, we all cant; we are excuseless. You might prefer to agree with Emmanuel Kant who taught we Kant know anything about God (which, ironically is something he claimed to know about God). But even if we claim to not know, we do. We have seen the night sky and the endless other examples of how God uses creation to share knowledge about Him. In fact, he has placed the entire notion of eternity in our hearts. Have you every thought of that? That only humanity has the capacity to know God. So, with Kant I can't completely agree, but possibly by degree, in that one Kant fully know God through Nature alone.
What excuse is man left without? For starters, unlike the rest of creation, we have the capacity to know Him, but also, having free will, we choose otherwise. Think of mankind's general penchant for evil, war, control, hatred and destruction. Man has no excuse for it. In other words, no matter the man’s reason, evil is not the goal, so man is without excuse. The Bible says all mankind is guilty before Him (Ro. 3.23) and that he is holy and only holy things may come into His presence. Natural Revelation alone leaves us no excuse for dying. Sure unrighteousness is why man dies, but that's no excuse. We were built to live forever. If you understand we have no excuses, Special Revelation says a lot you may want to also hear.
The Bible declares Jesus is the only One to ever have a legitimate excuse for dying because of sin--You.
If you are tired of excuses, come to the only One who had an excuse to die because of sin.
Jesus lived a sinless life so that we who are sinners benefit from His death by receiving eternal life in Him; and we know it's true because he died for us even though we are sinners. God demonstrated His love for us in that! (Ro.5.8)
As we (humanity) committed the greatest sin, killing God in the flesh, we were without excuse but he made it possible to excuse your sin that day on calvary. Not just once, but once and for all!
He says we will become a new creation when we trust him from the heart (2 Cor 5.17) and ask Him to save us.
You can ask Him to save you right now. If you believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and died to take away the sins of the World, that he will save you if you cry out to Him and ask for his favor. Ask him to fill you with His Spirit, confess and forsake your sin--especially your false opinions about Jesus. Ask His eternal help. Ask him to seal you forever. Ask it and believe that God is saving you. Thank him for creating such a world that proclaims his existence so clearly.
He will answer you, for if you believe that Christ died paying the penalty for your sin and you confess he is Lord you will not be ashamed. All who call on the name of the Lord will be saved:
“This is the message of faith that we proclaim: If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation. Now the Scripture says, Everyone who believes on Him will not be put to shame, for there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, since the same Lord of all is rich to all who call on Him. For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
God bless you!
