“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” (Acts 3:19, NIV) “He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He refreshes my soul.” (Psalm 23:2–3, NIV)
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28, NIV)

There are seasons when your soul feels tired, even when nothing is visibly wrong. You’ve prayed, served, and shown up—but deep inside, you feel parched. You may not be in crisis, but you know you’re not alive with joy either. That’s when you need more than rest—you need refreshing.
Going to God for times of refreshing means acknowledging that your soul needs more than routine—it needs relationship. Refreshing doesn’t come from entertainment or a weekend off. It comes from turning your heart toward Him again, letting go of what weighs you down, and drinking deeply from the well that never runs dry.
Sometimes refreshing begins with repentance—not just from sin, but from self-reliance. When we turn again to God with open hands, we position ourselves to receive what He’s always wanted to give: peace, joy, rest, and renewed strength.
Even Jesus withdrew to solitary places to be refreshed by the Father (Luke 5:16). You’re not weak for needing renewal—you’re human. And God stands ready, not to shame you, but to revive you.
Selah:
Do you seek times of refreshing?
When God has revived you in the past wasn't it glorious?
Prayer: Going to God for Times of Refreshing
Lord, I’m dry inside. Not burned out, but not fully alive either. I need You to restore me—not just physically, but spiritually. Wash over the weary places. Breathe new life into old prayers. Lead me beside still waters and refresh my soul. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
