Marriage is more than a cultural arrangement or emotional connectionâit is a sacred covenant designed by God to reflect His love, His unity, and His faithfulness. In a world that treats marriage as disposable, Scripture calls us to something deeper: commitment rooted in Christ.
âFor this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.â (Ephesians 5:31) âHusbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.â (Ephesians 5:25)
Biblical marriage is a living picture of Christ and the Churchâmarked by sacrifice, servant-hearted love, grace, and oneness. Itâs not always easy. Two sinners learning to live as one requires forgiveness, patience, and supernatural help. But when centered on God, marriage becomes a place of growth, joy, and witness.
Itâs not about perfectionâitâs about persistence in love. When Christ is at the center, even struggles become tools for sanctification, and the bond only grows stronger.
Marriage isnât just about happinessâitâs about holiness.
đ Prayer: A Prayer for Christ-Centered Marriage
Lord, Thank You for the gift of marriage. Help us to love like You loveâsacrificially, patiently, and faithfully. Guard our hearts from selfishness and draw us closer to You and each other.
Teach us to see marriage not as a contract to benefit ourselves, but as a covenant to reflect Your glory. Strengthen every marriage represented here, and restore whatâs been wounded.
Let our love story tell of Your love for Your people.
In Jesusâ name,
 Amen.
